Les aquarelles Classic Old Holland font partie d´une gamme aussi riche en couleurs que les peintures à l´huile Old Holland. Les aquarelles Classic Old Holland ont une expression et force de couleur exceptionnelles dûes à une pigmentation maximale.

Bien que cette force de couleur demande une petite adaptation de l’aquarelliste (si peu de peinture est nécessaire pour obtenir l’effet de la couleur désirée qu’on a besoin de s’habituer au ratio de peinture/diluant).

Les étiquettes des tubes et demi-godets de la peinture aquarelle ne donnent pas le ton plein de la peinture mais la sous-couleur (un choix logique suivant de la technique de l’apprentissage aquarelle). Les étiquettes sont en sérigraphie grâce à une impression spéciale.

Au choix 159 nuances d´aquarelle résistant à lumière.

Entres autres deux propriétés connues de certains pigments :

la granulation : certains pigments laissent une fois secs, un lavis non uniforme, moucheté, tacheté, comme par exemple le bleu de manganèse, le bleu outremer foncé ou la terre de Sienne naturelle.

la floculation : les particules de pigments (comme le vert émeraude clair et foncé, la terre verte ou terre d´ombre naturelle) s´attirent les unes vers les autres, ce qui peut produire comme pour la granulation de magnifiques effets de structure.

La gamme d’aquarelle comprend également un certain nombre de couleurs opaques, transparentes (avec l’addition « lake » dans le nom) et semi-transparentes.
