In der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts setzte sich der Chemiker Jasques Blockx zum Ziel, echte und reine Ölfarben im Geist der Alten Meister zu entwickeln. Noch heute erfolgt die Produktion dieser professionellen Künstlerölfarben nach der damals entwickelten Rezeptur. Nur die besten und reinsten Pigmente werden verwendet und verleihen der Künstler-Ölfarbe in allen 84 Farbtönen eine Lichtbeständigkeit von mindestens 7 auf der 8 Stufen umfassenden Wollskala. Als Bindemittel dient bestes Leinöl für die Eisenoxid-, Erd-Farben und Schwarztöne. Für alle anderen Pigmente wird Mohnöl eingesetzt, das nicht vergilbt und beim trocknen nicht brüchig wird. Die Farbmasse wird langsam auf Steinwalzen zu einer Künstler-Ölfarbe vermahlen, die von Künstlern wie Magritte und Dali für ihre Ausdrucksstärke, Konsistenz, Brillanz und Lichtechtechtheit gerühmt wurde. Alle 84 Farbtöne sind lieferbar in 35ml Tuben, 3 Weißtöne darüber hinaus noch in 60ml und 200ml Tuben. Preise pro Tube.
